PRAYER OF THE DAY
Let us pray.
Almighty God, by the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus
Christ you conquered death and opened the gate to eternal
life. Grant that we, who have been raised with him through
baptism, may walk in the newness of life and ever rejoice in
the hope of sharing his glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit be dominion and
praise now and forever.

The Word FIRST LESSON Exodus 15:1-11
HEN MOSES and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord:
“I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted.
The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea. 2 The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my
salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I
will exalt him. 3 The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name. 4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his army he has hurled into the sea.
The best of Pharaoh’s officers are drowned in the Red Sea. 5 The deep waters have covered them; they sank to the
depths like a stone.
6 “Your right hand, O LORD, was majestic in power.
Your right hand, O LORD, shattered the enemy. 7 In the greatness of your majesty you threw down those
who opposed you.
You unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like
stubble. 8 By the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up.
The surging waters stood firm like a wall; the deep waters
congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 “The enemy boasted, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake them.
I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them.
I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.’ 10 But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them.
They sank like lead in the mighty waters.
11 “Who among the gods is like you, O LORD?
Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory,
working wonders?

PSALM OF THE DAY Psalm 118 (page 108)
This Psalm was woven throughout Holy Week, and proclaims that our
Messiah has come to save us! The men sing the first half, the women sing
the second of each verse. Join together for the refrain and the Glory Be.
SECOND LESSON 1 Corinthians 15:1-11
OW, BROTHERS, I want to remind you of the gospel I
preached to you, which you received and on which you
have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if
you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you
have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance:
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he
was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the
Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the
Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of
the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living,
though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James,
then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also,
as to one abnormally born.
9 For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be
called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But
by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not
without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I,
but the grace of God that was with me. 11 Whether, then, it was I
or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.
VERSE OF THE DAY Psalm 118:24
We read the Verse of the Day together. Then sing the Alleluias!
Alleluia. Alleluia. Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!
Alleluia. This is the day the Lord has made; let us
rejoice and be glad in it. Alleluia.

GOSPEL Luke 24:1-12
N THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, very early in the morning,
the women took the spices they had prepared and went
to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from
the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of
the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this,
suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood
beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their
faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you
look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has
risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in
Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of
sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” 8
Then they remembered his words.
9 When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things
to the Eleven and to all the others. 10 It was Mary Magdalene,
Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them
who told this to the apostles. 11 But they did not believe the
women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. 12
Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he
saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away,
wondering to himself what had happened.
This is the Gospel of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
♫ Praise be to you, O Christ!

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH
Heavenly Father, God of grace, you have brought us into a new and living hope by the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
Christ is risen!
For as in Adam all died, so in Christ all will be made alive.
He is risen indeed!
He was delivered over to death for our sins and raised to life for our justification.
Alleluia!
We marvel at the love you showed by your willingness to sacrifice your Son to pay for our sins; we bow down in adoration at your mighty power, which raised him from the dead.
We praise you for sending the true Life and Light into the world.
Lord Jesus, God of grace, you have filled our hearts with resurrection joy by your victory over sin, death, and the grave.
You have conquered the darkness and given us comfort and hope.
-6-
With the Church of every age, we offer you unending praise, for you have crushed Satan’s head and have removed our guilt.
You are risen!
Dear Savior, we who are weary and burdened come to you for rest, knowing that because of your perfect redemption there is now no condemnation for us.
You are risen indeed!
Take away our doubts and fears, and daily renew in us the joy of our salvation.
Alleluia!
Holy Spirit, God of grace, you have called us by the gospel and brought us to saving faith in our risen Lord.
We glorify you for opening our eyes to see the light of life.
Keep us with Jesus Christ in the one true faith.
He is risen!
As we journey through life, make us yearn for the day when you will give eternal life to us and all believers in Christ.
He is risen indeed!
Special prayers and intercessions may follow.
Hear us, Lord, as we bring you our private petitions.
Silent prayer.
Work through us as we proclaim the saving message of the crucified and risen Jesus near and far, so that many others may hear your call, obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, and join us before the throne of our God and of the Lamb.
Alleluia! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Alleluia! Amen

Last fall, we viewed a video called “My Son, My Savior.” On April
7th and April 10th, we’ll do something similar with the first of those
videos, “Road to Emmaus.” We’ll view the ½ hour video of what
the conversation might have been like with those two disciples on
Easter afternoon, followed by a devotion and prayer.
LOOKING FOR HELP – FACEBOOK MANAGEMENT
We want to be where the people are, and there are plenty of
people on Facebook. There’s already a placeholder for our church.
We want to claim it and use it to let people know more about us.
We’re looking for someone to help keep content fresh. If you are
interested, talk to Pastor Jansen.
