XDiscover Your Strengths-Based Evergreen Niche
Introduction THE PICTUREBigSet aside about an hour for this exercise.
Niche? YOU MEAN, LIKE EXCLUDE PEOPLE AND LEAVE MONEY ON THE TABLE?
A sure-fire way to not succeed in online busines is to be all things to all people.
By speaking to everyone, you speak to no one.
By niching down, and addressing specific painpoints you are you are able to do two things: 1) attract the RIGHT person and 2) push away the WRONG person.
But how do you know what to niche down into?
I’m glad you asked.
Ready? Let’s go!
It’s your life. It’s Your business. It’s your legacy.
It’s my purpose to help you make it all can be.
Choosing an evergreen niche is an absolutely foundational step towards building an online business that affords you the mobile lifestyle to do the (fill in the blank) of your dreams. This is your “why”.What’s your “why”?Go ahead. Write down the motivation behind pursuing an online business right now.
Know who you help! If your thing is Adobe Illustrator, and don’t work with people wanting to learn Adobe After Effects. make that distinction. Create websites but don’t write the copy? Own it here. It could be that you work with men only or women only. Need help with your ideal client? Check out this resource:

SELFAssess One of the biggest challenges you will face in this entrepreneurial adventure is yourself. Fear and doubt will creep in as stressors pop out of nowhere and your initial instinct will be to turn to what others are doing for a solution. But this leads to comparison, indecision, inconsistency and an unfocused pursuit. The solution? Know yourself.

Ok, that process should have funneled you from a boring and general demographic to specific natural interests. You have skills and abilities that are results of your contextual
sphere of influencers.
Now that we have a better understanding of who we are and have finished our lists, let’s combine these things to discover our evergreen niche.
Remember back to, say third grade, and a little thing called venn diagrams. (This stuff is so simple a third grader could do it.) You know, two or more overlapping circles with common
things in the middle.

Skills/Abilities

In this step, you are going to list your skills, hobbies and personality traits in their respective bub-bles.
Then combine skills, hobbies and personality in their respective overlaps in as many ways as pos-sible.
Again, this is your first step towards narrowing down a niche.
You should come up with something that looks like this:
Online Courses for Adobe Illustrators.
The more specific the better.
5 Minute Online Courses for Adobe Illustrators.or
5 Minute Adobe Illustrator Hacks for Time-Strapped Designers.
‘Design’ is not a good niche.
Know why? It’s vague.
Go crazy. Get a little ridiculous. Get some scrap
paper and draw your circles.

1. EVERGREENHow can I know if my niche is really evergreen?
Can your niche be categorized in the top 3 broad evergreen niches? If not, could it still be considered ‘evergreen’?
Other examples of evergreen niches would be things like first-time
motherhood, basic budgets, or learning a language. Why are these evergreen?
These are evergreen because there will always be people becoming mothers, struggling with their finances or wanting to speak French so they can order
that soup du jour.
If there are any non-evergreen combos on your list at this time, stop and either cross them off or make them evergreen. In an effort to inspire you not to be
Charlie Brown, I’ve included a bonus! In the appendix of the book, there is a list of 101 evergreen niches to help you along in this step.
Time to Refine
It’s time to take those awesome combinations you’ve come up with and refine them a little. We will do that by running them through four filters.
BRITTNEYROSSIE.COM MARK YOUR X BRITTNEYROSSIE.COM MARK YOUR X
2. QUALIFIERWho/What am I really targeting?
When we talk about qualifiers for our niche combinations, we are talking about adding another limiting factor to it, another condition so to speak. An example would be taking the possible niche from earlier and adding ‘eco- friendly to it.
Designs for a custom truck bed camper.Eco-friendly designs for a custom truck bed camper.
Other examples of qualifiers could be ‘for Chevrolet’ , ’for men’ or ‘for pet owners’.
Example:International travel hacks for pet owners
Re-purposed truck campers for non-profits/NGOsTry to add some different qualifiers to your possible evergreen niches.
3. METHODSHow am I going to make money with this idea?
Now that you have some sweet and specific niche ideas written down, how are you going to monetize them? In order to make money with your ideas, you need to be able to fit them into a business Method category that is going to be the vehicle to
carrying you to your dream lifestyle (refer to page 5 if you’ve forgotten why you are doing this).
There are 4 business Methods to consider:
E-commerce: Digital, Physical and Informational Products Consulting/Coaching
ServiceBlogging
We are going to write down ideas for evergreen combinations that would work in each business method.

4. RESULTS & BENEFITS
What does your client actually want?
It’s really easy to tout all the features of a drill when all a client actually wants is a hole in the wall. They may not even care how precise the hole. They may be
happy with hole made by a sledgehammer!
Get clear on what your client actually wants. Don’t get caught up in the how.
Example:I help you package and price your services. The benefit is that you feel
great about your offer.I help you book more discovery calls so that you can attract more potential
clients.I help you get great at sales so that you can feel great on a sales call.
Pro-Tip: Use “so that” to make sure you are communicating a result and benefit along with what you help people do!
E-Commerce: Digital, Physical and Informational Products
Online shops are a much cheaper and much more viable option for those looking to take business on the road but can be a pillar for any business. Contrary to
what it’s name might suggest, E-commerce is not limited to digital items, like web templates, vector images or stock photos.
You can sell both physical and digital products. Your business can sell either uniquely branded items or resell externally manufactured items. Online
entrepreneurs use companies like Etsy or use their own website with built in e-commerce, like Squarespace to sell their products.
While a physical product is the likeliest to tie you down to a particular location, it is possible to sell a physical product by ‘drop shipping’ or outsourcing the production
of a product to companies like Amazon who will automate that aspect of the business and maintain a mobile lifestyle.
Another popular online product that can fall into both of the aforementioned categories is an informational product. Simply enough, an informational product
can be a book/e-book, course, video or webinar that is filled with tutorials, DIY instructions and how-to hacks.
24Would you sell physical, digital or informational products? Is there a physical
product you can manufacture or sell to monetize your business niche? Is it unique to your brand, made by you or an externally manufactured good you just have to
endorse?Example: Blueprints and/or materials for an eco- friendly design for a truck bed
camper.
BUSINESSMethods

Consulting/Coaching
This is a method that often requires delivery on high value and intangible results. For that reason, it is very, very important to be specific and know that your abilities
can match what you advertise.Have you been in the photography industry for years? Could you help young photographers learn a thing or two about the industry? How about a hands-on or Skype class to teach camera hacks and client interaction? What are you
knowledgeable/certified in that others would pay you to help them with? Are there any skills you would like to learn, certification you would like to earn?
Example: Custom blueprints and materials for an eco- friendly design for a truck bed camper.
Service
Similar to coaching and consulting, providing a service could provide intangible results or it could produce tangible ones. Are you a designer or photographer? A
sound engineer or app developer? Can you do something for someone as a service to them?
Example: Web and blog design for a couple that is building their own eco- friendly designs for a truck bed camper.
BUSINESSMethods
Blogging
Blogging all by itself does not earn you money but if done correctly it can. I like to think of blogging as a public bulletin board for marketing. It can serve as a
classroom, bulletin board, sales page, spotlight, and conference.
No matter how you choose to use it, it should always, ultimately, be pointing people to your product or service. The blog is where you explain its value, feature people’s success, show how it compliments another person’s product or service, create buzz.
When as a result of all this activity someone has purchased your product/ service, your blog has been officially ‘monetized’.
For me this is the best way to monetize a blog. A secondary way is through affiliating links. This is what I do and highly recommend. A third, and my least favorite way, is through ads. I will always steer people away from ads unless
you have hundreds of thousands of page views. I’m biased and think they look unprofessional and trashy.
My advice? Affiliates, yes. Advertisements, no.
How would you use a blog as a business method category?Example: Featured custom and eco-friendly designs for truck bed campers

Hey Sister,I’M BRITTNEY
I help women go from no business (or slow business) to a thriving business that gives them both time and financial freedom, which allows them to make the impact they were born to make.
My own entrepreneurial journey started internationally in 2015 while I was still working in full time missions work with my husband. I used my self-taught skills to improve our non-profit work’s online presence and began working online and coaching others on how to do the same.
It was a surreal, challenging and empowering experience to grow in my technical skills and strengths, own my value, charge for my services because I have such a huge value for supporting others dreams. But when I did, I built not one, but two, profitable online businesses from the ground up.
I love walking alongside women on this same journey as they identify how they can make an income online and live a life that leaves more than a money trail but an actual legacy!
Building a business that works (for you, your clients, and your life) is simpler than you think but it isn’t easy. Talk about the OVERWHLEM, sister! However, it’s so worth it.
I believe that with strength, courage, and wisdom, and a little bit of mentorship, it is absolutely possible for you to launch your legacy today, right where you are.
