One of the most significant civil rights movements of the twentieth century.

This historical movement amongst Americans with disabilities has now begun to be documented.

The field of Disability Studies has been forged by many over the years.

The Disability Studies Program was founded by Diane Bryen and Sieglinde Shapiro in 1989
