Design House Stockholm is a publishing house for Scandinavian design. It makes available ideas and solutions that improve our homes and our daily lives. For more than 20 years we have been developing and producing products for the living room, the kitchen and the dining room and we are now opening the bedroom door with two new collections of bed linen. Artist and designer Gustaf Nordenskiöld came up with the idea of creating an entire collection based on the classical men’s shirt. Exploiting the tailor’s expertise and the fine quality of the fabric to produce bed linen that breathes. Daniel Östman’s Cotton Line Collection is a play on stripes and colours, both vertical and horizontal. His patterns are an excellent example of something that is really difficult to achieve: a seemingly simple look with its own voice and a strong personality.

The Publishing House for Scandinavian Design

Design House Stockholm is a publishing house for Scandinavian design. It makes available ideas and solutions

that improve our homes and our daily lives. For more than 20 years we have been developing and

producing products for the living room, the kitchen and the dining room and we are now opening the bedroom door

with two new collections of bed linen.

His patterns are an excellent example of something that is really difficult to achieve: a seemingly simple look with

its own voice and a strong personality.

The idea for the Tailor collection was born out of Gustaf Nordenskiöld’s collection of classic men’s collars.

Well made pieces with close attention to details and quality. Products that age with dignity and that can stand

the wear and tear of both the body and the eye. We loved Gustaf’s idea of transforming the visual language

of the men’s shirt, and applying the art of fine sewing and garments that breathe on a collection of products connected to the bedroom.

Tailor-made classic garments in a new context. Produced by manufacturers that normally make fashionable high quality shirts.

The collection includes three bedding sets (duvet cover and pillowcase), pyjama shirts and pyjama trousers.

Pillowcases are also sold separately.

Gustaf Nordenskiöld is an artist, designer and curator based in Stockholm, Sweden. In his work, Gustaf is exploring the

field between design, crafts, arts and industrial production. Recurring themes are the interaction between man and the object,

the rawness of the material, traces of the creative process, as well as the forces of nature and chance.

Gustaf has been working in the fashion industry for several years, but his passion has always been the fields of art and craft.

Sure enough, stripes never go out of style. A careful selected mix of stripes and solid colors

is the recipe behind Daniel Östman’s Cotton Line bed linen, an updated version of

the patterns behind his Cotton Stripe collection. The collection includes

three bedding sets (duvet cover and pillowcase). Pillowcases are also sold separately.

Daniel Östman studied at the Carl Malmsten School in Stockholm. He qualified as

a cabinet maker in 1996, and in 2003 he opened his own design studio, where he now works on

a variety of design projects.

Design House Stockholm’s ambition is to comprise a cross-section of how Scandinavia looks and thinks today,

and to be recognized as the natural, competitive source for dealers wanting to sell Scandinavian design.

To make this even easier, we have created a new display unit for our bedroom textiles.

The unit encompasses display, storage and information, and takes up less than two square metres of floor space.

Does this sound interesting? Don’t hesitate to contact us for further details.
