To get through our day to day lives we have surrounded ourselves with tools and gadgets and systems that help us compensate for our humanness. When it comes to changing an aspect of our lifestyles, such as improving our diet and becoming more physically active we tend to rely on internal processes and willpower alone, reinforced by the preachy style of the UK public health system. This presentation looks at the process of behaviour change, at the internal tripwires people face from psychological biases which undermine their efforts to change, and we consider a number of user-centered solutions that give people the best chance of lasting change.

This presentation looks at the process of behaviour change, at the internal tripwires people face from psychological biases which undermine their efforts to change, and we consider a number of user-centered solutions that give people the best chance of lasting change.
