Declaration Process of Atmospheric Emissions

Background

• The obligation of fixed sources to submit records for health sector about emissions, to estimate these, is contained in regulation D.S. N°138/05.

• At this first stage, only one specific group of activities or equipment is required to submit information.

• The declaration process began in 2006 and will take place annually.

• The data submitted corresponds to the operation during the year preceding the year the declaration was made.

• The process of collecting information is through an electronic file generated by a specific program.

Objectives

• Establish baselines for emissions at regional level.

• Update emissions inventories.• Seek information to generate future

emission regulations to allow a more preventive management of air quality; therefore, the information should be traceable, consistent and appropriate.

How to make a declaration

• Facilities need to download, from the site www.retc.cl, the client program that will allow them to submit background information

• At least 3 forms in the program should be completed.

• A report should be generated, which is submitted to the health authority.
