central search engine
Within your own portal you initiate an
enquiry
1. The enquiry is sent to the central search
engine
2. The Central Search Engine polls all the
registered catalogues and returns a list to your
portal
3. You select an item to view in detail
4. You then click to view the associated data

Data issues
Frequency of data uploads
Currently reliant on performing bulk data uploads scheduled at monthly intervals
LAs and Audit Commission need to be satisfied that data is of sufficient quality
Solutions:
Continuing negotiations with government departments to develop long term policies for provision and quality of data
Building a tool that allows manual update of data as it is received from OGDs
Long term plan is that Hub will connect directly to OGDs databases using automatic XML file transfer protocol
