Pomona

The node design was based on the concept of telling a story, with that story being Pomoa's History. For that reason, the five nodes where placed in a series, going through history, from the past to the present, and looking into the future.

The form of the node intallation was taken from a film reel, and manipulated to create intruige in the structure by wrapping around the existing path to give an invitaion to enter.

Site SelectionUsing a morphological analysis of Pomona, the most appropriate site was chosen (below), as it is situated around other community buildings.

There is a significant view of Mount Cooroora (Purple) and a pedestrian/Cycle route

through the site (Orange)

The void spaces will remain open to air in order to signify the historical importance of the

landscape of Pomona.

Design Proposal

The windows and paths have been positioned in relation to the view of

Mount Cooroora as it is of historical importance and

therfore, relates to the purpose of the civic

building

The circulation of the building allows for

pedestrians and cyclists to experience the journey through time, with an

endless circulation.
