1.1 EarlyWebsiteversion
Theurlfortheprojectwasobtainedbeforetheprojectbegan:www.mazizone.eu.AtemporarywebpagewasavailablefromthestartoftheprojectinJanuary2016,untilthelaunchofthe“official”websiteinMarch2016(figure1).Thiswebsiteprovidedanoverviewoftheproject,andlinkstosocialmediaaccountsandtheprojectmailinglist.

1.2 TheMaziprojectlogo
Whilethemainprojectwebsitewasbeingdeveloped,anewlogowasdesigned.Thiswaschosencollectivelybytheprojectpartnersthroughavotingprocess.AfterfourdesignswerepresentedthemostpopulardesignwasselectedandusedthroughouttheMaziwebsiteandsocialmedia.
Thedesigned logo clearly captures theneed forMazi project and its results andprovides an identity to theproject.ThelogohasbeendesignedfromthebeginningoftheprojectandallpartnersfeltthatitsuccessfullyencapsulatesthevisionofMazi.TheMazilogo,depictingitsnetworkdimension,hasbeendesignedtoserveastheflagofMazi.Itwillbeusedatanypublicappearanceanddocument.

The website is intended to appeal to a broad audience, to keep people informed about the aims and theactivitiesoftheMaziProject.Itisstructuredtobeeasytouseandnavigate,yetflexibleenoughtogrowinsizeand range of content over the lifetime of the project. Key audiences include; the general public, scientificcommunities,FLOSS/CAPScommunities,artists,activistsanddesigners.
Itwill act as a library of resources and links to externalmaterial, so itwill be updated regularly by theNUpartners,andwillgrowtobecomeasubstantialandusefulresourcetotheDIYnetworkingcommunitybytheendoftheproject.
Thewebsitewillbeamajoronlineportalor“hub”fortheMaziproject,andthereforethestructureofthesitehas been carefully considered to be robust, yet flexible in response to the needs of the wider projectcommunity.Itwillincludeopencollaborativeforumsandblogsastheprojectdevelopstoallowformaximumcommunicationandengagementwiththeprojectwork.
