EricgraduatedfromLouisianaStateUniversity'sSchoolofAlliedHealthwithamaster'sdegreeinphysicaltherapyin2006.HewentontoacquireadoctorateinphysicaltherapyfromtheUniversityofMississippi.Morerecently,EricachievedcertificationinmanualtherapyofthecompletespinethroughIAOM-USinconjunctionwithhisacquisitionofadoctorateofsciencedegreethroughtheHealthSciencesCenteratTexasTechUniversity.HecurrentlymaintainsanextensiveoutpatientpracticewhileservingasdirectoratanorthopedicphysicaltherapyclinicinCovington,Louisiana.Inaddition,EricisanadjunctfacultymemberwhoregularlylecturesforboththephysicaltherapyanddentalschoolswithinboththeLSUandEmoryhealthsciencesystems.

Craniomandibularpainrepresentsoneofthemostcomplexandchallengingdiagnosesformedicalintervention.Theintegratedwebofneurophysiology,vascularityandbiomechanicsthatexistthereincanfrustrateeventhemostseasonedofclinicians.
ThiscourserepresentsanamalgamationofbothanuppercervicalspineandTMJcourse.Craniomandibularpathologyusuallyinvolvesdysfunctionwithintheuppercervicalspine,thetemporomandibularjoint(TMJ),myofascialsystemorinmostcases,acombinationofallthree.
Successfulinterventionrequiresanappreciationoftheintricaciesofinteractionbetweenthestomatognathicandcervicalsystems,aswellasanunderstandingofthe

multi-disciplinaryinteractionneededforcomprehensivecasemanagement.
Educationregardingthenormalstructureandfunctionofthissystemisoftenlackingacrossthedisciplinesinvolvedinitsmanagement,andthereforemanycliniciansenterclinicalpracticeill-equippedtoappropriatelyinterveneincasesofcraniomandibularpain.Thelackofcontinuingeducationcoursesdedicatedtothesubjectfurthercompoundsthisproblem.
