CUPID

• God of love and passion• Used love arrows to make people fall hopelessly in love

• Symbol was a quiver of arrows

• Greek name is Eros

PSYCHE

• Most beautiful of three daughters

• People started worshipping her

• Venus became very jealous

• Symbol is a butterfly

• Goddess of the soul

THE STORY

• Venus sent cupid to shoot Psychewith one of his love arrows

• Fates became upset

• Cupid scratched himself with his arrow and fell in love with psyche

CUPID AND PSYCHE

•Cupid takes Psyche to their castle

•Psyche never saw Cupid

•Psyche’s sisters came and were jealous

•They told her Cupid was a monster

PSYCHE’S PLAN

•Psyche takes a lamp and a dagger andsees her husband

• Psyche drops oil from lamp

• Cupid flies away to have Venus heal him

• Venus gets mad and makes Psycheperform tasks to see Cupid again

TASK NUMBER ONE

• Psyche had to sort an entire room full of seeds

• Cupid sent ants to help her

• Psyche finished well before Venus’s deadline

TASK NUMBER TWO

• Psyche had to retrieve the golden fleece

• A voice told her how to do it

• Psyche got the fleece by using the

advice

TASK NUMBER THREE

• Psyche had to retrieve water from waterfall

• Eagle came and got it for her

TASK NUMBER FOUR

• Psyche had to go to the underworld to get Proserpina’s Box of Beauty

• In a tower a voice told what to

do

• The voice warned her not to

open the box

• But she did……

THE END

•Cupid came back and saved Psyche

•He brought her to MT. OLYMPUSand had her turned into a goddess

• They lived happily ever after
