Part Time Vs. Full Time

Full Time:

-2 year commitment (Fall, Winter & Spring)

-54 credits are required to complete the degree *With Assistantship – 12 per term *9 per term is considered full time

Part Time:

-Typically 3 year commitment (Fall, Winter & Spring)

-One to two classes per term

-Same credit amount required

Thesis Masters of Science Research Based Document Specifically Focused to Area of Interest

Portfolio Masters of Education Demonstrates Competency Completion Capstone Project in Variety of Formats

Minor Vs. Specialization

Minor Requires 15 graduate level credits Formally declared with Graduate School Minor Professor of your choice to be included on

committee Visible on Transcript

Area of Specialization

Comprised of 12 graduate level credits3 credits must be a related internshipDesigned by you!Emphasis on chosen functional area or topicNot visible on transcript nor does it require

formal declaration with graduate schoolElectives can be within CSSA or another

academic department

Experiential Learning

Internships 9 credit hours required, can do more 1 credit = 30 hours of work Expectations negotiated between you and internship supervisor Available at any institution and within any functional area

Project Credit similar to an internship, not required 1 credit = 30 hours of work

Assistantships Can fulfill competencies .49 FTE typically requires 19 to 20 hours of work each week Specifics are job dependent
