human settlement development in South America. (Peru and Chile)
Abstract
The needs of social housing are the critical issues around the world . Two important moment
of upgrading social housing was happened in the history of housing innovation .First , in 1927,
The exhibition about international modernism dwelling was organized in Stuttgart, Gemarny
with the particiants of many famous architects . The second in 1970 in Lima, Peru, The most
effective architects were cooperated again for the designing model neighbours . In the
project of Fumihiko Maki and Kurokawa, they emphasized the idea of extending family and
the important of densification . They welcomed the changes to houses reflect the growth of
the household. In this paper, The project of Elemental in Quinta Moroy is illustrated as crucial
preference for the role of participatory and the needs of growing family nowadays to the
sustainable human settlement development .During the construction, innumerable
participate workshops were held to modify and refine the project . The bottom-up self-build
combine with the top-down strategy planning will solve the housing problem : the growing of
family against the structure frame of the house . The evaluate methodology will consider the
significance of rethinking human needs to the sustainable human settlement development in
scenarios (past-present and future).
Question:
How is the importance role of expanding family approach the strategy of social housing
development in Chile?
