Cristo Salva was established in 1991.

Markus & Maria Kamberger, Ledy and Pastor Ray Marco

“Cristo Salva”means

“Jesus Christ Saves”

The Cristo Salva Mission began in 1990, when Pastor Ray Marco of Miami’s Oak Grove Church made a brief visit to Honduras with church members Markus and Maria Kamberger to pray for Maria’s sister who had cancer. Deeply burdened by the poverty and sickness and spiritual need they observed while there, they earnestly prayed for God’s guidance as they considered how they might help.

Hacienda Cristo Salva

Within months, Markus and Maria had purchased a 250-acre farm in the poor mountain village they had visited earlier. The farm became the mission base and was renamed Hacienda Cristo Salva.

Honduras is the 2nd poorest country

in the Western Hemisphere

We serve the

Northwest area of

Honduras which

has one of the

greatest

concentrations of

poverty

Poverty is extreme and pervasive

There are no

safety nets to

assist those in

need…

People born into

poverty seldom

escape its grip.

The unemployment rate is

65% and is much higher in

our service area.

Many women provide for their

families on less than a dollar a day

Young women

become pregnant

by 15-16 years old

Malnutrition results

in diminished mental

development in

many children…

The mortality rate for children under 5 is

32 per 1000 children. Many mothers do not

name their children until after their first birthday

because they are afraid they will die…

Honduras ranks 5th in

countries with the lowest

human development

Fathers are missing in the

majority of homes - leaving to

find work and many never return

There is virtually no clean water

available for the poorest Hondurans

This is the water supply for a cluster of homes

Children pick up

parasites from

unclean water and

the soil around their

homes

The conditions are overwhelming

Living conditions

are unfathomable

Multiple generations

live together in small

primitive huts

There is no access

to medical care

To be born into

poverty is to live

and die in poverty

And yet in the midst of all this

Cristo Salva provides HOPE

That’s where you come in-

be part of the team! The most important

requirement to serve on a

team is a willing heart!

Team members are needed

in many different areas.

Trips are intentionally kept

low-$450 for a week plus

airfare. Trips are available

four times a year.

Ways you could serve….

“Hut To Hut” ministry provides food, clothing,

medical supplies and treatment to remote villages

“Hut to Hut” ministry

includes ministering

to and praying for the

Honduran people.

Many have come to

know the Lord from

these visits.

Village Mobile Clinics provide food,

clothing and medical supplies. You may

hand out supplies to families.

Village Food Distribution Programs

Many families are literally starving.

There is no public assistance available

no matter how severe the need. We provide food

bags for many families every trip.

Clean water is a necessity. There are times when we along with the villages have no water, and it has

been necessary to build a holding tank for water to enable us to continue activities of daily living. We

have been working on water filters for homes. If you are interested in this project please let us know.

Cristo Salva supports

the area churches

and pastors. You will

be attending church

in the evenings.

Many Worship Teams

and youth groups are

invited to sing

at area churches,

schools

and gatherings

Public Schools have

allowed us to share

the gospel along with

health education and

vitamin distribution

programs.

Over 55,000 children in 2nd - 6th grade

will receive vitamins and anti-parasitic

medicines this year. You may help give out

vitamins and medicines.

Public Health Education

is provided to school

children to educate

them about clean water

supplies, hand washing

and how germs spread.

Cristo Salva distributes tracts, Bibles and Sunday

School Material in Spanish to schools and villages.

Cristo Salva provides thousands of School

Supplies/Packets to children who desperately

need them in order to continue their schooling.

Anyone with a

servant’s heart is

most appreciated

and needed!
