Classes meet once a week for 8 weeks Beginning Guitar Level 1 and 2– taught by: Santa Monica Conservatory of Music Discover musical aptitude in a fun introduction to music through the guitar with a conservatory faculty teacher. Learn new songs each week and per-form an end of session concert. Fee includes instrument. Gymnastics– taught by: 5 Stars Sports and Enrichment The primary purpose of recreational gymnastics is to learn while having FUN. We utilize developmentally appropriate curriculum to teach/reinforce loco-motor skills and manipulative movements with instruction that include rolls, cartwheels, basic balance and body awareness. Through this program, your child will develop their coordination skills, confidence, strength, flexibility, discipline, goal orientation, organization and creativity. These will serve as “stepping stones” as they progress into more advanced gymnastics and/or other sports
Books for Cooks– taught by: Kitchen Kid Quench your young chef's thirst for culinary adventure! Kids create a fun and delicious recipe inspired by a favorite children’s story. Kitchen safety, nutrition, and culinary basics are integrated into each tactile lesson. Recipes introduce kids to new flavors and may include Ferdinand’s Paella, Naked Mole Rat’s Shoestring Pasta, The Apple Pie that Papa Baked, and Wild Things Pesto Pizza. Kitchen Kids create a cook-booklet with all class recipes! Global Eats– taught by: Kitchen Kid Come travel the world... of food! These fun and tasty lessons teach geography, culture, language, and history! Kitchen Kids learn basic culinary skills and nutrition education while cooking global delights likes Argentine empanadas, sweet French crepes, wonton soup from China, and Indian coconut curry. Kitchen Kids stamp their passport-cookbook each week with recipes, maps, and memories from afar!
Play to your Health—Jump Start– taught by: Play to Your Health Students master running, jumping, skipping, throwing, kicking and catching. PTYH prepares students for athletics with non-competitive games and activities. Students are encouraged to use their imaginations and try their best. Play to your Health– taught by: Play to your Health Combination of sports training and innovative games that inspire movement. Students develop athletic coordination and learn valuable health lessons, such as how to read their heart rates. Students are encouraged to be motivated by themselves, for themselves
Kindersports and Games– taught by: Overtime Athletics We use sports and games that promote sharing, cooperation and fitness. Instructors lead the class in various games. A safe environment is created so children feel comfortable participating and exploring new activities like soccer, basketball, nerf football and field events. This age specific program is a great introduction to athletics, teamwork and sportsmanship
Sports Spectacular– taught by: Overtime Athletics Do you love to play sports? Then you’ll love Sports Spectacular! Each week we’ll play a different sport or game including: basketball, soccer, flag foot-ball, kickball, capture the flag, tag games and MORE! We’ll work on teamwork, sportsmanship and fitness, all while having FUN. Sign-up today!
BREAKDANCING/HIP-HOP FOR BOYS AND GIRLS!- taught by: So Fly Kids The fundamentals of old and new school hip-hop dance. Skills include popping, locking, waving, freestyling, and breakdancing, in precisely choreo-graphed routines. TGA Premier Junior Golf– taught by: TGA TGA programs instill confidence, awareness and life values in a progressive 5 level program. Students learn the fundamentals, etiquette and rules of the game with an 8:1 student to instructor ratio. All equipment is provided by TGA. Come out and play with TGA!
Animal Invasion! Taught by: Parker-Anderson Enrichment Animal invasion is a class for all animal lovers. Your child will see and learn about all kinds of amazing live animals. Our hands‐on class includes Rep-tiles, Amphibians, Mammals, Birds, Insects and much more. Don’t miss out on all the fun, games and most importantly the animals! Ceramics– taught by: Creative Fire In this session of Ceramics, students will create an Asian Cloud Vase, envision a winter scene, fabricate a picture frame, and make a Creation of Their Imagination. Coiling, pinching, and slab building techniques will be explored. Once painted and fired, your child’s artwork will spring to life from our kilns to your home! Flowers will spring to life, Winter stories will be told, pictures will look lovely , and imaginations will soar to the unique intuition of your child’s creativity! The Wonders of Science– taught by: Mad Science Discover how hurricanes, tornadoes and thunderstorms form. Investigate ocean waves and tides. Probe the mysteries of meteors and comets. Discov-er amazing things that glow in the dark. Make secret messages and find out how gravity keeps us on Earth and how Science and Art are linked!
