Community Leadership Council (CLC)
„ The mission of the Crenshaw/LAX Community Leadership Council (CLC) is to promote community-based dialogue around opportunities arising from the Crenshaw/LAX Line development and engage a wide base of community stakeholders with ongoing project activities throughout communities located along the Project alignment in a way that’s equitable, beneficial, resourceful and meets the needs of the community.
„ These actions will be carried out through topic-specific working groups, quarterly community meetings, bi-monthly construction meetings and special project collaborations with Metro staff and other community groups.

Working Groups:
„ Community Engagement- Solicit input and encourage dialogue in the community on topics surrounding the Project.
„ Economic Development- Establish opportunities for job creation, commercial development, capital investment, jobs and small business development within the project area.
„ Quality of Life- Identify opportunities to improve quality of life for the community within the areas of mobility, safety and environmental health.
„ Special Projects- Additional areas of community interest

Tunnel Boring Machine Art & Naming Contest
Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students are invited to compete in a naming and art illustration contest for the new Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) that will dig twin tunnels to connect three underground stations on the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project. Students from pre-k through 5th grade are invited to submit art illustrations depicting their ideal community with the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project as a central theme. Students from 6th through 12th grade are invited to submit videos or essays with recommended names for the TBM. Winners will be announced at the TBM lowering ceremony in Fall 2015.
