Business RulesThere are 7 different ways to build and manage business rules in InfoShip and DMS Server.

Profiles

• InfoShip uses profiles to store configuration data.

• Stored in the DMS Server database—changes to the server are pushed out dynamically to the workstations.

• Faster startups—configuration data is cached locally so only those data items having changed are loaded on startup.

• InfoShip uses local, in-memory databases for lightning fast lookups of centrally managed business rule data.

You decide what information fields InfoShip displays. For example, the main screen can show an overview ofthe important aspects of an order such as the customer’s name, address, and contact number, where thepackage is in the shipping process and what items are in the package. If the default description of any givenInfoShip field does not match your company’s vernacular, you have the ability to change the description onthe fly, which is then updated on your host system.
