Creating a Digital Art Portfolio Website
Portfolio Website Goals and Purpose
• Every art student in DISD will create a digital website on google that will follow them through the end of their Senior year.
• This will enable you to keep up with your artwork, and it will allow teachers to grade your work and give you feedback on your work
• We can also use this as a way to critique your works of art
• Take pride in every assignment, you want to represent yourself, the artist, in the best way possible.
How to create a google website:
• Go to google’s homepage and make sure you are signed in: ID@g.dentonisd.org
• Password is same as when you log on to school computers
• Click on the google apps icon and click on “Sites”
• You will now click on “CREATE” button to create a new website.
• Now click on “Browse the gallery for more”
• Find “DentonISD Art Portfolio Template” and click on it.
• Now click “Select” at the bottom of the screen.
• Your site should named in this order:
Last name, first name, ID#
Art
• Once you are in your site, you can click on the pencil tool to edit your pages.
• All the editing tools will show up at the top.
• Fill free to give an introduction about your self and add an image!
• To add artwork to your portfolio, you will first click on High School Artwork, and find the class you are in at the bottom of the page.
• Once this page is open, you can select “Insert-Image” to place an artwork that you have created into your portfolio.
• Click on upload images to find your image in a file where you have saved it.
• Your image will most likely be too big.
• Try clicking on different sizes until you find one that suits you!
• That’s better!
• You may want to label your work with a title or what the project was, and the date
You will receive a grade for creating your webpage.
Every artwork and sketch you create will be uploaded to your website to be graded by me.
I will also add comments on your site if needed for you to see.
