What is a wiki?
• Wiki is a Hawaiian word for “quick” or "fast"
• A wiki is a collaborative web site which allows users to add, modify, or delete content to get fast, quick answers
• Wikipedia on Wiki
Wikis are so easy…
…that I taught my dogs how to wiki!
…yes, I taught. I didn’t say they learned!
What is a wiki good for?
• Storing shared knowledge
• Community note taking
• Wikis in plain English
What are some good wiki applications?
• Sharing and saving class notes, materials
(great flipped classroom tool)• Project or event planning• User groups, advisory boards, committees• Others?
