Recommissioning
Recommissioning (RCx): Identifying and implementing low-cost “tune-up” improvements to functional systems in a customer’s existing facility that allow it run as efficiently as possible.
Improvements typically save gas and
electric energy
CNP RCx Program designed and sized
for the gas-weighted portion of energy
savings
Can be a stand-alone program OR
Can be paired with the owner’s electric
utility RCx program
ASHRAE Journal October 2009

Recommissioning
1. Study Funding
• Funding is a function of the customer’s gas usage and
predicted gas savings potential
• Up to 75% of study cost, not to exceed $5,000
2. Implementation Rebates
• $5.00/Dth saved
• Must have 1 year to 10 year payback
