Connecting to 802.1x wired Ethernet

1. Go to the Start Menu and type Services into the Search programs and files menu.

2. At the top of the start menu, a list of programs will appear. From this list, select and click Services.

3. Locate Wired AutoConfig and double-click on it.

4. Within the Wired AutoConfig Properties window:

From the Startup type drop-down menu, select Automatic.

Under Service Status, click Start.

Click OK and close the Services window.

5. Go to the Start Menu and type Network and Sharing into the Search programs and files menu.

6. From the list that appears in the start menu, select and click Network and Sharing Center.

7. Locate Change adapter settings and double- click on it.

8. Locate Local Area Connection, right-click on it, and select Properties from the drop-down menu.

9. Select the Authentication tab. Then, click Settings.

10. Uncheck any checked box next to Validate server certificate or Trusted Root Certification Authority.

11. Uncheck Enable Fast Reconnect.

12. Then, click Configure...

13. In the window that appears, uncheck the box next to Automatically use my Windows logon name and

password (and domain if any).

14. Then, select OK.

15. Back within the Local Area Connections Properties window (in the Authentication tab), select Additional

Settings.

16. In the drop-down menu select User Authentication, then select Save credentials.

17. In the box that appears, enter your Edinboro Username and Password, then select OK.

18. Click OK in all remaining windows.
