June 2015 Visitor Stats up 23 over last June What a great month for visitors to the Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre We serviced 2367 visitors up from 1900 inJune 2014 Because June traditionally is a busy month for European travellers we made a point of tracking visitororigins for our European visitors Top 4 visitor origins Germany Britain Netherlands Switzerland We were thankfulto have 2 volunteer counsellors fluent in German Another interesting stat Weve had a substantial increase in online inquiries with the majority of visitor packagesheading to the US all noting they are planning a visit to the Cowichan this year Did you know the Cowichan RegionalVisitor Centre fills all the requests for visitor info from the Tourism Cowichan website Another great partnership withTourism Cowichan Economic Development Cowichan and the CVRD
CRVC travel counsellors tour ChemainusOur Visitor Services team were treated to a morning familiarization tour of the many businesses in downtownChemainus including Chamber members Best Western Plus Chemainus Inn Chemainus Theatre Festival and TheSilvermine on Chemainus Many thanks to the Chemainus BIA for setting up this tour complete with transportationby horse and carriage Our volunteers were very impressed with several Chemainus businesses they had not visitedbefore

Heart amp Stroke Foundation PAD Program ‐ Provides Defibrillators amp Training to Qualified ApplicantsReceive an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) through the Heart amp Stroke Foundation of BC amp Yukon TheFoundations Public Access to Defibrillation (PAD) program fully funds and places defibrillators in public facilities Theprogram includes training for up to 10 individuals Immediate CPR amp AED increases heart attack survival by 75Delay response by 12 minutes and heart attack survival plummets to just 5 With stats like this its good to knowmore public places will have AEDs

CRVC travel counsellors tour ChemainusOur Visitor Services team were treated to a morning familiarization tour of the many businesses in downtownChemainus including Chamber members Best Western Plus Chemainus Inn Chemainus Theatre Festival and TheSilvermine on Chemainus Many thanks to the Chemainus BIA for setting up this tour complete with transportationby horse and carriage Our volunteers were very impressed with several Chemainus businesses they had not visitedbefore

Heart amp Stroke Foundation PAD Program ‐ Provides Defibrillators amp Training to Qualified ApplicantsReceive an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) through the Heart amp Stroke Foundation of BC amp Yukon TheFoundations Public Access to Defibrillation (PAD) program fully funds and places defibrillators in public facilities Theprogram includes training for up to 10 individuals Immediate CPR amp AED increases heart attack survival by 75Delay response by 12 minutes and heart attack survival plummets to just 5 With stats like this its good to knowmore public places will have AEDs
