6G Class Assembly The Mayans

Thank you to the children in 6G for our first assembly in 2016. The theme

of the assembly was The Mayan Civilisation, a new topic in the curriculum

at Cotteridge School. The children provided the audience with lots of in-

teresting facts and entertained us with their drama, dancing skills and

singing. I am sure that one day many of them will have the opportunity to

visit this fascinating part of the world. Well done 6G.

Year 3 Parent Workshops

Healthy Eating

Children and parents from year 3 took part in workshops this week linked to hidden

fats and sugars in food. They worked in teams to

Investigate food packaging to find out the levels of hidden

sugars and fats in their foods, and the results were

surprising.

Tayjah: “It was shocking that a 200g bag of Harribo

contained 26 teaspoons of sugar!”

Pearl: “Crisps have more grams of fat per 100g than in pizza.”
