Internship Policy(see policy document on CS website)

#1: Attend this talk

#2: You must have successfully completed CSC 325, 335, 345, and 415 at the time of the internship

#3: 200 hours on-site (remote work not accepted as sole option)

#4: Work extends classroom experience, delves into new technology area, synergistic effort (no IT, no help desk)

Internship Policy#5: On-site visit with internship coordinator, you, & manager; (video-based if outside travel area)

#6: At the completion

Comprehensive end-of-experience report (20 pgs, double spaced)

Poster presentation (see hallways)

Reflective 2 page essay on professional development / life-long learning

Internship Policy#7: Appropriate, professional oversight/management provided. (May limit you at start ups or small companies.)

#8: Limited to 2 internship experiences for completion of major. The first fulfills the capstone requirement, the second can be used as a CS Option course.

The Process1.Find internship

2.Complete proposal form + one page statement of work (possible sign off by manager of paper/presentation)

3.Submit to internship coordinator (IC) for approval

4.Once approved (IC, chair, dean’s office), it goes to R&R

a.You coordinate site visit

• parking, access, schedule, directions

b.Approx. 1 week prior: one page update / summary

c.Usually takes place at mid-point of internship

d.Usually lasts 60-90 minutes
