Compound Word Pack
1. Compound Word Matching Game (pp. 2-4)• Cut apart cards on all horizontal lines and then on all the
dotted lines.• Shuffle cards and then match them back up.
2. Mix and Match Compound Words Game (pp. 5-6) • Cut apart all picture/word cards.• Using all the compound word pictures from pp. 2-4,
review the real compound words that can be created. • Play is similar to Memory Match (or Concentration), with
each player turning over two cards at time and saying the compound word created. (example: wind-bell)
• Players get to keep the cards if the real compound word is created.
(Other real compound word can also be created, such as fireman, so play by a different set of rules if you decide to use these.)
3. Mix and Match Compound Words Game (p. 7)• Play the same way as #2 above. No picture helps are
included with this matching game for more of a challenge.
• Use words a simple match up game.
Suggestion: Copy onto cardstock and laminate for durability.
