Year in School: 3rd year Major: Economics Hometown: Navy Dependent Needlework Style: knit and crochet How did you learn? I've been crafting since early elementary school, adding new fiber arts as the years go by. Though I knit and crochet most often, I also spin, tat, weave, make hairpin lace, and try my hand at whatever else comes along. Favorite thing about knitting, crocheting, or yarn: The act of creation. Regardless of whether it's a simple pattern that looks beautiful in repetition, or a complicated pattern that comes together in an intricate way, it's an adventure to build something from the bottom up.. Most difficult thing you’ve made: The Lorenz Manifold! A tiny hook and an exacting pattern meant the manifold took ages to make and it was very repetitive. But it's a really nifty mathematical object!

Year in School: 3rd year Major: History Hometown: McLean, VA Needlework Style: Crochet How did you learn ? My grandmother gave me a book called I Taught Myself How to Crochet, when I was in the 3rd grade. I was able to learn through the diagrams, and I have been hooked (yes, pun intended) ever since. Favorite thing about, knitting, crocheting or yarn: I love discovering yarn stores when I am abroad and when I crochet in airports. I always love the reactions I get from people whenever I am crocheting really fast. Most difficult thing you’ve made: A Bavarian Blanket. It took me the entire winter quarter my first year to make. Year in School: 3rd year Major: Classics Hometown: Brooklyn, NY! Needlework Style: Both Knit and Crochet How did you learn? I learned to crochet from my aunt when I was seven or eight and learned how to knit a few years later. I prefer knitting. Favorite thing about knitting, crocheting, or yarn: For me, knitting is a way to both create something and destroy stress. Most difficult thing you’ve made: Maybe "difficult" isn't the right word, but I'm most proud of a pair of gloves I made two years ago.

Year in School: 1st year Major: Economics Hometown: Northbrook, Il Needlework Style: Knit How did you learn ? I learned to knit when I was 9 years old from my mother and her co-workers at a local knitting store. Favorite thing about knitting, crocheting, or yarn: My favorite thing about knitting is when a project comes out just the way you want it to. Knowing you put in the effort and spent the time to create a piece for yourself or for another person is very rewarding. Most difficult thing you have made: The hardest thing I've knit is an English driving cap.
