Mrs Hansell will be the Reading Recovery, RFF andSupport teacher, Mrs Palin will be ESL and Supportteacher and Mrs Neary will be Teacher Mentor andSupport. A new staff member wiil temporarily fill theLibraryroleuntilMrsSheridanreturns3daysaweekmidTerm4.Thank you to Mrs Ryan, Mr Dale and Mr Howell forcoveringdifferentclassesandrolesoverthepastterm.

OurschoolrecentlyreceivedexcellentnewsthatwewillreceiveEarlyActionforSuccessfundingforthenextfouryears. Early Action for Success (EAfS) Phase 2, is theDepartment’s implementation of the NSW Literacy andNumeracy Strategy 2017-2020.This strategy aims toimprove students’ performance through a targetedapproach in the early years. In particular, the strategyinvolves:•Early identificationoftheLiteracyandNumeracy levelofeachindividualchild(K-2).• Differentiating teaching practice that focuses on theneedsoftheindividualstudent.• Using targeted interventions in Literacy and/orNumeracyaccordingtoneed.• On-going monitoring of student progress in LiteracyandNumeracy.

Recently I worked through an external expression ofinterest process to appoint an Instructional LeaderDeputyPrincipaltoourschool.ThesuccessfulcandidatewasMrs Jill Jocyswho isan extremelyexperiencedandcapable teacher who will commence at Kemps CreekPublic School next year. She will work Monday toWednesday. As an expert teacherMrs Jocys will workwith teachers at Kemps Creek Public School to make asignificant difference to our student learning outcomesinliteracyandnumeracy.

This isour lastPrefectsProfileandwearevery lucky tohavebeenyourprefectsthisyear. Ithasbeenaverybigresponsibility but it’s been awesome. We’ve learnt somany things such as leadership roles, caring for otherstudents and solving problems. We would like tocongratulateournewprefectsandhopetheyhavegreatexperienceslikewehavehad.Farewellandgoodluck!

I was the school ambassador this year and I met withthreeotherambassadorsfromotherschoolsandwecameup with ideas to improve our school. We created a‘cleanometer’ to assess the amount of rubbish in ourplayground. We also created a group called the ‘CleanPatrol’whoencouragedotherstoputtheirrubbishinthebin.WepresentedashortfilmaboutallthethingswedidattheAmbassadorsDayatLiverpoolCityCouncil.We all worked really hard and enjoyed the Ambassadorprogram.
