• Scots pine is long living tree. Its age reaches 300 – 400 years, and that isn‘t a limit. Scots pine can stay alive for 500 – 60 years or even more.

• Paprastoji pušis yra greitai augantis medis. Dažniausiai ji būna 25 – 40 metrų aukščio, bet kartais gali užaugti iki 45 – 50 metrų.

• Ji gyvena 300 – 400 metų, dažnai sulaukia 500 – 600 metų.

Pinus sylvestris• Scots pine is an evergreen tree

blooming in May – June. Its buds are the germs of the new branches.

• Scots pine has leaves. That is the needles which persist for 2 – 3 years.

• Scots pine also produces 2 type of cones: male and female ones. The cones are the storages for the seeds. The seeds mature in 17 – 18 months. Then the cones open to release them.

• Paprastoji pušis yra visžalis medis, žydintis gegužės – birželio mėnesiais. Pumpurai yra naujų šakų užuomazga.

• Paprastosios pušies lapai yra spygliai. Jie išsilaiko ant šakų 2 – 3 metus.

• Paprastosios pušies kankorėžiai būna 2 rūšių: vyriški ir moteriški. Sėklos kankorėžiuose sunoksta per 17 – 18 mėn. Tuomet kankorėžiai atsiveria ir jos išbyra.
