I selectedHelenKeller’s quote above because it surelydescribesourcollectiveexperiencesoverthepast fivemonths.Thepandemic is in full swingandnowwe’re entering hurricane season, so the trial and sufferingcontinues.ClubMeetingsLuckily,we’reLionsandwehavebeenthroughworseandstillwegivebacktoourcommunities.I’mhopefulbecauseourclubsarelearninghowtomoveforwardevenunderthesefrustratingconditions. Our clubs haven’t met face to face for severalmonthsandwe’refiguringouthowtoovercomethatchallenge.SomearemeetingvirtuallyusingplatformslikeZoomorFreeConference Call. Others are using telephone conference callsandtextingtostayconnected

FirstCabinetMeetingWe held a virtual cabinet meeting on July 18th and it was“difficult”. San Antonio Founder Lions Club OnWednesdayJuly22nd,theSanAntonioFoundersLionsClubputtogether101clothingkits(eachclothingkithadapairofshorts,atshirts,apairofsocksandanunderwear)forCAM(ChristianAssistanceMinistry)forbothmenandwomen.AllclothingwaspurchasedbytheClubasadonationtoCAM.The following Lions volunteered to assemble the kits and deliver the kits to CAM: LionPresidentDavidSilva,LionStellaSilva,LionPDGRodChisholm,LionMaryJaneChisholm,LionIreneGuzman,LionPatricia“Pat”GuerraandLionFaithPorras.
