Description - Coding, hacking, and tinkering is not necessarily what you expect in an art school. The Media Lab at Lasalle College of the Arts is a practice oriented and studio based environment that focuses on creating artifacts and prototypes with the use of open source and low-tech technologies. The results that emerge from this lab can be experimental, playful and applicable to real world scenarios. With a strong interdisciplinary approach and collaborations between disciplines including Music, Theatre, Dance, Design, Media Arts or Fine Arts, the Lab aims to expand the use of custom built technologies into various forms of artistic expressions. This talk will look at methods and outcomes within the Media Lab when different disciplines meet.
