Climate change is threatening

Innovation and leadership is needed Society must be transformed

Still meet basic human needs

Powerful interests in fossil fuels The rich and powerful are the last to feel the heat The immediately affected have least influence

Climate Positive MovementA movement whose time has come.

The Pledge:“From today on, I personally will have a net

beneficial impact on the global climate.”

Taking greenhouse gases OUT of the atmosphere!

How to be climate positive?

1. Lifestyle Change Go low-carbon

2. Overcompensate what’s left.

Keeping track of your carbon footprint

The (Over-) Compensation

Two-fold approach:

1. Emissions-reducing projects in Southern countries (e.g. forest protection, reforestation, renewable energy projects)

2. Retiring carbon credits in the North (e.g. EU ETS)

Some existing mechanisms can be used.

Advocacy

Unfortunately, just changing ourselves is not going to be enough to stop climate change.

As Al Gore says: Don’t forget the citizen in you!
