Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
Let’s begin!
PARKING LOT
When we park the car at the zoo, we have to walk to get our tickets.
I might have to wait in line to get my ticket and wristband.
TICKET PLAZA
THE ANIMALS!
When I go to see the animals, I
might have to wait my turn before I get to see them. All of the exhibits
look different.
Inside the Rainforest, it will feel hot and sticky.
THE RAIN FOREST
I might get to see big birds fly right by me.
Sometimes it will be dark inside the rainforest.
I have to stay on the path inside the rainforest.
the rainforest
I might hear a thunderstorm inside! It looks and sounds like a real storm, but it’s just
pretend!
When it gets foggy, it’s hard to see things in the
rainforest.
AUSTRALIAN ADVENTURE
In Australian Adventure, I have to stay on the path so I don’t
scare the animals.
I might even see a kangaroo get REALLY close.
YAGGA TREE
At the Yagga Tree, the bridge is wobbly and shakes when you
walk on it.
The slide looks like a snake’s mouth, but
it’s just pretend!
KOOKABURRA STATION
This is Kookaburra station where I get to see farm
animals up close.
I might get to pet an animal here!
WASH HANDS!
When I’m all done petting the animals, I have to wash my hands here.
BALLARAT THEATRE
At Ballarat Theater, I get to see zookeepers talk about lots of different animals.
They might surprise us with a big bird that flies around us!
The zookeepers bring out different animals for us to see. Sometimes the birds talk into the microphone and it can be VERY loud!
SAVANNAH THEATER
Sometimes the zookeepers bring out animals for us to see up close.
If I volunteer to go on stage, I might get to see a BIG snake up close!
Inside the Savannah Theater, sometimes the big birds fly around and get close to
my head, but they won’t hurt me!
the BOOMERANG LINE TRAIN
If I ride on the train, I might have to wait in line until it’s my turn to find a
seat.
The train goes through a dark tunnel and sometimes the wheels can be
VERY squeaky!
We will probably see some animals when we’re on the train.
When I feed the birds, they will fly around me and land on my hand to drink the nectar.
LORIKEET AVIARY
CAMEL RIDES
I might get to ride on a camel. I’ll be up so HIGH!
When I feed the giraffes, they stretch with their long necks and use their tongues to get the food!
GIRAFFES
PLAYGROUND
I can play on the playground with other kids, and there are lots of different things to explore.
The carousel moves in a slow circle and plays music. I might ride on an animal that moves up and down.
CAROUSEL
LUNCH TIME!
When it’s time for lunch, we might go here to eat.
LUNCH TIME!
Or if we bring a lunch, we might sit at a picnic table like this to eat.
COOL OFF!
When we walk around the zoo, a fan blows a little bit of water on us to help cool us off!
BATHROOMS
When I have to go to the bathroom or wash my hands, these are some of the places I might go.
