CIRCULAR CLARIFIERS
EUROPE
KWI Europe offers a large range of clarifiers
that adapts to various loads, flow rates and applications.
They are tailormade to meet all customer requirements.
❑ RADIAL-FLOW CLARIFIERSThe flow pattern in these KWI Clarifiers is radial.
The raw water flows into the clarifier either from the center
or from the periphery.
3 models have been developed:
✓ Peripheral Radial-Flow: Unitube
✓ Central Radial-Flow: Bottom scraper
✓ Suction bridge clarifier: Suction type
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
Diameter (m) From 15 to 100
Capacity (m3/d) From 3000 to 130000
Depth of water (m) From 3 to 4
Proposed material
Concrete tank
+• painted mild steel
• 304 stainless steel
• 316 stainless steel
APPLICATIONS
▪ Pretreatment
▪ Biomass clarification
▪ Tertiary treatment
OPTION : Radial-Flow Clarifiers
WITH LAMELLAR PACKS
for specific applications
KEY ADVANTAGES
▪ Reliable
▪ Easy to operate
▪ Hydraulic tested by CFM
▪ Large treatment capacity
▪ Little agitation to water body
=HIGH EFFICIENCY
▪ Peripheral Radial-Flow clarifier: Unitube
▪ Central Radial-Flow called: Bottom scraper
▪ Suction bridge clarifier: Suction type
Legend: 1: Inlet 2: Effluent outlet 3: Sludge outlet 4: Floating matter outlet 5: Scraper
Generally, the scraper is installed with
the truss and can be driven centrally (clarifier Ø<20m)
or peripherally (clarifier Ø>20m).
✓ Without bottom
scraper
✓ Fixed bridge
Optimised
conventional
clarifier
✓ without priming
siphon
✓ well suited to high
flow rates
❑ SEDICONE™ CLARIFIER (SD)
This KWI patented clarifier is a cylindrical-conical settler
composed of:
✓ A steel cylindrical-conical tank
✓ A supported central introduction tube
✓ A peripheral surface water recovery channel
✓ A harrow device at the bottom of the tank
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
Models From SD 15 to SD 100
Ø (m) From 2.3 to 6
Height - on foot (m) From 5.1 to 7.65
Material
• Wetted parts: 304 or 316 SS /painted steel
• Non-wetted parts: 304 or 316 SS / painted steel
• Foot: painted steel
• Flanges: aluminium
The water is introduced through a central tube, the sludge
settles at the bottom of the device and the treated water rises
to the surface to overflow through the pouring blade.
KEY ADVANTAGES
▪ Tank in steel
▪ Thanks to the bottom harrow:
➢ Better sludge concentration
➢ No effect of vaulting and fouling
▪ Rapid implementation
honeycomb packs with water collector
to improve capacity and performances
Flocculation tank
can be integrated
SEDICONE™ with ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT is possible:
❑ SOLIDS CONTACT CLARIFIER
This KWI specific clarifier has the ability to act as
both an enhanced flocculation device and a high
rate chemical precipitator.
Mixing, internal solids recirculation, gentle
flocculation and gravity sedimentation are all
combined into a single unit.
KEY FEATURES &
MAIN ADVANTAGES
▪ Lower energy consumption
▪ Single turbine with high volume & low shear
▪ Integration is including gravity sedimentation
clarification & enhance flocculation
▪ Thickening bottom harrow
▪ Less chemical needed
▪ Lower footprint
