Connectivity – Current CHESS Flows (all users)

In the future the ASX are implementing industry recognised standards in terms of message protocols, security and providing users multiple
connectivity options to the new solution.

Account and Holder Creation
As part of the move to ISO20022, CHESS Registration details have been standardised
The existing ‘180’ field has been broken into component values; name, designation, address etc.
The end investor is now defined as a holder and the length restrictions increased to more accurately record the investors details

Real time settlement
Currently the settlement of mFund application and redemptions are settled as part of the daily CHESS settlement batch.
There are current limitations with this as orders need to be accepted by the batch cut off at 11.30am
With CHESS Replacement payments will be facilitated via real time.
ASX have been working with the Payment Providers and the RBA to define the solution, this will be a revised RTGS solution through the RBA / RITS system using ISO20022.

Customer Development Environment Overview
32 |
CDE Environment – Key points
ASX CHESS Replacement
Environment
• Environments primarily aimed at those developing their own software to interface with CHESS Replacement
• Each CSP user will have access to their own dedicated CDE
• Note, this means all users will have the same set of UICs
Functional versus non-functional
• Functional only environment for low volume message testing and should not be used for performance testing
• Does not contain enterprise security, resilience or fail-over models
• Should not be used for non-functional testing
33 |
CDE Environment – Key points
ASX CHESS Replacement
Data
• No CHESS production configuration or account data to be used in CDE
• CDE environments will be seeded with base static (calendars and securities) data
• CSP user transactional data will not be migrated when CDE environments are upgraded
• Where a CDE environment is refreshed CSP transactional data will not be persisted, therefore users
should develop re-runnable scripts to seed environments with their own test data
• CDE includes test auto-responders allowing users to simulate bilateral test scenarios
