POSITION // PROVISION
James and John were practically salivating as they anticipated places of power and authority in the coming
kingdom of Jesus. Lord, do us a favor. Make us a promise.
When you establish your rule, give each of us special
places of POSITION and seats of honor right alongside yours.
The Lord cautioned them: You really have no idea what
you’re asking for. I’m on my way to a place of
suffering and sorrow. Are you ready for that?
They came to Jericho and another man had a request to make of Jesus.
His was heartfelt and just as outrageous as the one made by
James and John. Lord, have mercy! Restore my sight!
I need a PROVISION that can only be granted by the One who is King of
all the earth!
Ask boldly! Be audacious! Ask God for great things.
Ask for things only He can give. Ask in accord with His mighty power,
not your weak faith. But…let your petitions be humble
and appropriate. Ask Him for right things.
Ask for the things that will glorify His name, not yours.
Ask to be conformed to the pattern of His service and sacrifice.
And remember: He hears and answers prayer!
We are Cherry Tree Alliance.
LOVING GOD, LOVING YOU!

Message:
Finding His Favor
Prayer of Commitment
Sweetest Name I Know
Benediction
Please pray for our local Crisis Response Team, meeting for the first time today with Greg Crossley from Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster.
May God use this ministry to be the hands & feet of Jesus, reaching into the lives of our neighbors to demonstrate God’s great love. If you’d like to find
out more, feel free to attend our meeting today following the service.
Prayer of the Day
Please pray for Andrew & Esther Schaeffer, Alliance international workers serving in Burkina Faso. They list the following prayer requests on their
Alliance online profile: “1. Maranatha Bible School celebrated its 40th year of ministry (this is where we teach full time). We thank the Lord for the hundreds
of men and women that have been trained at this school and that are now serving effectively all over Burkina Faso and even in other countries.
2. Esther will be heading out for two days of teaching at a village girls school. Pray for strength and a lasting impact on the lives of these young women.
3. We praise the Lord for the many people who came to Christ in the Kenedougou area these past two weeks. Pray for other evangelism
outreaches planned for this dry season. 4. Thank you for praying for our prison ministry. We have seen a positive
change and specific answers to prayer. This week the underage prisoners were standing at the door of the cell asking if we would be coming to talk with them.
Pray that we will clearly communicate the message of truth.”
Missionary of the Week
FINDING HIS FAVOR “…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10.45 (NIV)
Abstract: More lessons in humility! Jesus asks James and John,
“What do you want me to do for you?” They request preferred places in his kingdom. Jesus asks Blind Bartimaeus, “What do you want me to do for you?” This man longs for the mercy of restored sight. What do you want from the Lord?
Your notes and comments:
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Sweetest name I know Fills my every longing
Keeps me singing as I go. Bart Millard
