Check the “LDS” checkbox and TroopMaster will apply the special LDS rules when it validates your Annual Recharter report.

The “LDS Unit” checkbox also activates several features not otherwise available.

For example, TroopMaster will create Troop, Team, and Crew member groups. Also, the “Duty to God” (DTG) award becomes available.

You can access the data entry dialog for this award through a button on the Individual Advancement dialog. In addition, two “Duty to God” report options are added to the Reports > Duty to God menu. However, these new menu items will not be visible until the next time you start the program. (Note: Deactivating this checkbox will not cause scouts to lose credit for DTG award requirements.)

Check this box if you are an LDS unit and you want TroopMaster to automatically move scouts to the appropriate member group (Troop, Team, or Crew) based on age.

This dialog can be accessed from the File menu then Preferences.

For example, when TroopMaster sees that a scout has turned 14, it will automatically move him from the “Troop” to the “Team” member group and check the “Varsity” checkbox on his Individual Advancement dialog.

The Duty To God Award

The Duty to God dialog has a separate tab for each of the three certificates, and TroopMaster will automatically display the certificate appropriate to the scout’s age.

For each certificate, you can elect to display any of the seven areas of requirements

When all three certificates are complete, TroopMaster will credit the scout with Duty to God and add the award to the scout’s special awards list.

As the scout completes these requirements, check them off within the list box

TroopMaster will monitor your entries and when a

sufficient number of requirements have been completed, you will be prompted for a completion date.

When all of the dated requirements are complete

TroopMaster will automatically enter a completion date for the certificate

Let’s look at the Duty To God Reports, starting with Certificate…

This report allows you to get an individual report on any scout for any of the three certificates. If you select the “Default Certificate” option, TroopMaster will generate the appropriate certificate for each of the selected scout(s) based on each scout’s age. Eleven year olds will automatically be excluded.

This report allows you to get an individual report on any scout for any of the three certificates.

Now let’s look at the Progress Matrix report.

This very flexible report lets you see the status of selected scouts against any of the requirements for any certificate. The data is presented in a spreadsheet format.

The matrix is limited to 65 columns so you cannot include all seven groups of requirements for any given certificate. However, you can select all of the “Duties and Activities” items, or all of the “Personal Goals”, or a selected combination of the two.

You can also include a legend that provides a detailed description of each requirement.
