Present of Ago, agere, egi, actum Rules for forming verbs

1) Find stem—age- 2) Add tense infix—”e” or “u” 3) Add endings

Can you conjugate ago in present? Hints: “o” eats “e” e+e=i (vs. Ē +e= ē) Third person plural infix is “u”

Ago, agere, egi, actum1st – Ago (I lead) Agimus (we lead)

2nd- Agis (you lead) Agitis (ya’ll lead)

3rd- Agit (he leads) Agunt (they lead)

Conjugate dūcō, dūcere, dūxī, dūctum- to lead

s. P.1st Dūcō Dūcimus

2nd. Dūcis Dūcitis

3rd Dūcit Dūcunt

Future Tense Rules for forming verbs

1) Find stem 2) Add tense infix—1 “ā,” 5 ”ē”’s 3) Add endings

Can you conjugate ago in the future? Hints: First person singular is strangely “ā”—what

personal ending will you use? “I’m an irregular A in the future!”

*notice lack of macrons for the “t” endings

1) Find stem 2) Add tense infix—BA 3) Add endings

Can you conjugate ago in the imperfect?

1st – Agēbam (I was leading) Agēbāmus (we were leading)

2nd- Agēbās (you was leading) Agēbātis (ya’ll were leading)

3rd- Agēbat (he wasleading) Agēbant (they were leading)

*NB: The e+e combines to an ē

What are the infinitives for these verbs?
