8-31-16 Freshmen Orientation was a success with new Highlanders getting familiar with their new

Professional Development for Coaches was held to best educate our coaching staff on
recent legal issues in athletics.9-7-16
“All-In” Assembly and Community Kickoff Night with Gian Paul Gonzalez, was an inspirational “back to school night” for
athletics and activities. Mark calendars for next fall: 9-6-17 Kickoff
Many coaches and various stakeholders have joined a committee to help recognize the various character
building efforts of our athletic programs. Last year we were one of 5 finalists. This year’s winner will be announced in January. Fingers crossed! Great job to
the committee.
This application is a lengthy process and WMHS athletics is proud of the efforts of the committee.
Members Include:Joe Trentacosta, Cathi Reda, Megan Cavallo, Krista Provost, Taylor Pevny, Jessica Allison, Lauren Rembrandt, Krista Tripodi, Donald Dougherty, and Steve Maslanek.
The WMHS Boys and Girls Cross Country was awarded a Character Education Promising
Practice Award for their Annual West Milford High School Cross Country Sportsmanship Run
for Breast Cancer Awareness and numerous character-team building events (2015-2016).
The WMHS Field Hockey Program was awarded a Character Education Promising Practice
Award for their involvement in youth program, fundraising, breast cancer awareness and numerous other character building-team
building events (2015-2016).
