Over the past year, the Chamber Executive Committee, president Daniel Jackon and Chamber staff, led by Suzy Montalto, Di-rector of Accounting & Administrative Services, have been capturing documentation to illustrate the checks and balances that are in place for the successful ad-ministration of the Carroll Chamber.

The Carroll Chamber will be submitting application to the US Chamber in 2012 for national accreditation. “This is not about awards and recognition, it is about insuring that our Chamber is the best it can be to bet-ter serve our members,” says Jackson.

The Georgia Academy for Economic Development recently graduated the 2011 class of area business and development professionals including Carroll County participants Kurt Kraft, chairman of the Villa Rica Development Authority and Ryan Roenigk , owner of ROENIGK Digital Craft. Graduates from the Region 4 Multi-Day Training Program. were provided an opportunity to gain a unique understanding of the complexities of economic and community development on the local, re-gional, and state levels.

The 2011 Farm-City Week harvest dinner highlighted this year’s honorees, Wendell Hoomes, Special award for volun-teerism; Sue Horn, Business award for Star News; and, Roger Harrod, Agri-business award for Georgia Deer Farm. Farm-City Week recognizes the partnerships between the rural and city business community and support of Carroll County’s unique resources.

One in six workplace deaths, and one in four workplace injuries, involve drugs or alcohol use.
