History of coca cola Pakistan• The Coca Cola company is a global company. In

Pakistan the company started it’s business in 1953. Today the company has a major share in beverage market. The company has its production units at Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad, Rahimyar Khan, Gujranwala, & Lahore.

• The company provides a fair amount of employment to local citizens and deeply involved in the life of local communities in which it operates

• Centralization is said to a process where

concentration of decision making is in a few hands.

Centralization: the degree to which decision

making is concentrated at single point in the

organization is called a centralization process, in

this process no lower employee is involved in

decision making.

• Decentralization is a systematic delegation of

authority at all level of management & in all of the

organization. In decentralized companies, authority is

retained by the top management for taking major

decisions & framing policies concerning the entire

process of the company’s work. Rest of the authority

may be delegated to the middle & lower level of

management

Practical study of organization

• In Coca Cola the decision making process is completely centralized and all decision are being taken by top level management and those decision are implement by middle and lower level management .

• Various departments make their annual plans and give their plans to the top level management, the management will decide how to execute the plan.

Practical Study of Organization

• 5 years ago the CCBPL was operating with a decentralized management structure, where decision making process involved the local and territory level management as well.

• The company, after a massive study of its working and the local working condition decided to transform its structure into centralization.

• Decentralization was not considered appropriate to compete in the market.

Practical studyCentralized decisions are taken in the present structure of CCBPL.

All the major decisions regarding marketing and financial are taken by the respective directors in Corporate office like supply chain, human resource, commercial and technical, etc.

TCM( territory commercial manager) can plan for Sale & marketing at locations & forward their business plans to corporate office for approval.

Practical study• Hiring & firing from worker to managers & to the

director level is approved by the corporate authorities.

• Compensation & benefits approved by corporate authorities.

• All contracts & agreements are approved by director legal. All litigations are processed, pursued by him.

Swot Analysis • Strengths:• Decisions are taken without prejudicesness and

favor.• Decisions are visionary and final.• Lengthy process in taking decision is discouraged.• Uniform decisions are taken for all territorial

locations and employees.• Personal likings and disliking at locations for any

reasons except on merit are discouraged and unaccepted.

Swot Analysis • Weaknesses:• Delay in decision due to non availability of the

deciding authority.• Delay in decision results in indulging unnecessary

litigations and problems especially in company vehicle accidents, etc.

• Delay in settlement of financial matters.• Delay in insurance and medical claims and

reimbursements thereof.

Swot Analysis• Opportunity:• Talented and qualified individuals irrespective of

religion, gender, race, locality, and section can avail and seek opportunity of employment and association.

• Carrier growth and job advancement.

Swot Analysis• Threats:• Threats by competitors like Pepsi in the market as

they take timely and immediate decisions.• Removal of empty stock of coca cola products

from the market by the competitors to minimize sale volume.

• Disallowing the local authorities to take counter action at their level to save the damages.

• Litigations are caused due to delayed decisions.

Conclusion• Conclusion: • No system introduced and made by mankind is

final or perfect.• Each and every system carries strength and

weaknesses.• Coca Cola has a worldwide system having the

largest sale volume of high quality products.• The company business is growing rapidly &

successfully.• The company’s performance proves that

centralization of their policies are right and appropriate .
