Central Institute of Technology (CIT,R) is a leading institute under Chhattisgarh Swami
Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai. The Institute has been established in 2009
under Manav Rachna Education Society (MRES) which is registered under the Society
Registration Act, 1973 of Government of Chhattisgarh. The Institute is conducting BE
Programme (6 Branches) with the approval of All India Council of Technical Education
(AICTE) and Directorate of Technical Education, Raipur. The institution is also
affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University.
Bachelor of Engineering (BE) is the fulltime regular course under the said university.
This institute has an intake of 360 students per year. The Institute has Latest Computer
lab, central Library, sophisticated class rooms, canteen, Auditorium, Play Ground etc.
The expert and experienced teachers always guide students to direct right path. College
is spread over 45 acres of lush green lands of 552000 sq. ft. of built up area.

Faculty: Technology is making great inroads in our life. With every passing day,
technologies are providing more and more useful to mankind. To provide technical
skills and knowledge to the students of BE, Central Institute of Technology (CIT) has
appointed highly qualified faculty equipped with the best understanding of
information systems, processing and technology tools for various operations. The
faculty is the backbone of our Institute. Quality education is imparted by engaging a
perfect blend of highly qualified and experienced faculty supported by young and
dedicated lecturers of good academic record. This team is led by Prof. Arindam Ray,
Director having teaching, research, curriculum development and administrative
experience of more than 18 years in one of the best Institutes of the region. Every
faculty member is fully motivated, involved and committed to overall effective

Eligibility Criteria
Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed / appeared the HSC
(Std. XII) examination of Chhattisgarh State, Board of Secondary and Higher
Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates who have appeared for qualifying
examination i.e. HSC (XII) or its equivalent examination during the current academic
year and whose results are not declared till the last date of submission of application
form are eligible to appear for Pre Engineering Test (PET), however for admission to
first year of degree courses in Engineering/Technology, such candidates must fulfill the
criteria as mentioned.
Admission Procedure:
Admission is completely merit basis. As mentioned earlier, the percentage of various
intake quotas are decided by the state Government. However, the current proportions
are State Quota: 90%, All India Quota: 10%. For admission under this quota, a candidate
is required to qualify in Pre Engineering Test (PET) conducted by Professional
Examination Board, Chhattisgarh (CGVYAPAM). Thereafter, candidates possessing
domicile of Chhattisgarh State are called for counseling by Directorate of Technical
Education, Govt. of Chhattisgarh and according to the availability, at the time of
counseling.
All India Quota (10%), under this quota, a candidate is expected to qualify in AIEEE
conducted by CBSE, New Delhi. Thereafter, candidates are called for counseling by
Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Chhattisgarh and according to availability
at the time of counseling seats are distributed.
Facilities
Central Library
Central Institute of Technology library has a large and rich collection of books,
Journal & Magazines with a book bank and electronic surfing as well as
reprography facilities. All the subject books, both reference and texts that are
recommended in the syllabi for the prescribed courses are available. CIT emphasizes
on the best collection of books. Hence, apart from reference books and text books
recommended in the syllabi many other books relating to subject are available for
the benefits of the students. The library has a spacious reading room with sufficient
number of seating capacity. To get an update on the current trends in the field of
technical education, periodicals magazines, journals and newspapers have been
subscribed on regular basis for the use of the students at leisure time. CIT purchases
the books covering a wide spectrum of course/subject wise merely within a period of
3 years. New books are being regularly added to the existing collection.
Hostel
The College provides separate hostel facility for boys and girls. The off campus girl’s
hostel accommodates for limited students and the boy’s hostel accommodates nearly
350 students. Strict discipline is followed in the hostels. The Hostels daily provides
breakfast, lunch, Snacks and dinner. A separate warden has appointed to look after
the welfare and needs of the students in these hostels. As the boys hostels buildings
are within the college campus. Adequate medical facilities are also available for the
hostellers
Transport
The College maintains buses for transporting the staff and students, who are
residing in the nearby areas. The route may be extended on the availability of staff
& students. The transport facility remains available for any kind of emergency
round-the-clock. The college has spacious parking facility for two wheelers and for
four wheelers.
Sports
Sports can be taken as a part of education, for they seek to develop three sides of
one's nature-physical, mental and moral. Sports make the body strong and active,
and some particular games train the intellect and develop the sense of morality, too.
They provide sufficient exercise to the body, and the rules guiding a particular
game make the players disciplined, while they play it. Our college has facilities for
Indoor games like table-tennis, carrom and chess. It also provides facilities for
outdoor games like volley ball, football, cricket, and kabadi with separate court for
each.
Classrooms, Seminar Hall & Auditorium
Institution has well structured Eco friendly and species class rooms which are
equipped with overhead Projector, Black Board, Desks
Job Placement
Since its establishment, Central Institute of College graduates were in high demand
in all sectors throughout the region. There was practically no unemployment in
any discipline. The Training & Placement Cell (TPC) of the College, which existed in
paper for quite long, was rejuvenated. The Cell initiated interaction with various
organizations and industries to impress upon them and organize Campus
Recruitments in CIT.
Sports & Co-Curricular
Sports are events staged by colleges in which student participate in competitive
sporting activities often with the aim of winning trophies or prizes. Meanwhile all
these events, we organize a Sports Festival that includes the students from all
departments of our college. This is sports celebration that is conducted in our
college at central Courtyard and Playground. Various sports events are conducted
such as Volleyball, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, Tug of War, Musical Chair, and
many more.
Cafeteria
Cafeteria is the hub of a college where students get together for chats, sharing
notes, and let’s face it some attire parade, hitting on college mates, cribbing,
cunning comments, and even making new relations. This is where the real college
thrives and this is the place to be, where the smallest of the memories become
memorable. CIT Cafeteria is all about these and many more. So, come aboard to
know what real college means and feels like! These eating joints have turned into
more than just a place to eat. These also act as hang outs for our budding artists.
You can catch a hot intellectual discussion in one corner or a serenade in the other.
Cafeteria is run by the college, for the convenience of the students and the staff of
the college with a view to provide quality food and snacks at lowest cost.
