The Convenience Innovation Awards were created in 2009 to recognize the critical role that innovative companies play in supporting the growth of the convenience channel. NACDA, CCSA and our regional associations are focused on celebrating and recognizing innovation and rewarding those companies that are bringing innovative products to the channel by assisting them in promoting those products to their retailer and distributor customers. The annual Convenience Innovation Awards attract a host of products. When retailers and distributors encourage their customers to purchase these products, we all benefit.

Innovation can take many forms: new products, new flavours, new packaging. We all agree that keeping it fresh and new for the consumer is what keeps them coming back to purchase.

Often our channel doesn’t get the credit it deserves for responding to the changing needs of today’s consumers who want to be able to grab a healthy snack or beverage on the go. That is why this year we introduced two “better for you” award categories; recognizing that one of the keys to success in introducing innovative products is responding to consumer’s desires for healthier options.

Both the Better for you Snack and Better for you Beverage categories attracted some of the biggest numbers of entries this year, a testament to the innovation happening in these areas.

Please take a moment to share this information with your category managers and your sales representatives. The attached document includes the primary contact for each product manufacturer. Each category’s nominees and winner are identified in the document below.

Les Méritas Innovation Dépanneurs ont été créés en 2009 pour reconnaître le rôle crucial que jouent les entreprises innovantes pour appuyer la croissance du réseau des dépanneurs. NACDA, l’ACDA et nos associations régionales ont pour mission de célébrer et reconnaitre l’innovation et de récompenser les entreprises qui offrent des produits innovants au réseau en les aidant à promouvoir ces produits auprès de leurs clients détaillants et distributeurs. Les Méritas Innovation Dépanneurs attirent chaque année une foule de produits. Et lorsque les détaillants et les distributeurs encouragent leurs clients à acheter ces produits, nous en profitons tous.

L’innovation peut prendre diverses formes : nouveaux produits, nouvelles saveurs, nouvel emballage. Nous sommes tous d’accord pour dire que l’originalité et la nouveauté sont ce qui incitent les clients à revenir pour acheter.

Bien souvent, notre réseau ne reçoit pas tout le mérite qui lui revient lorsqu’il répond aux besoins changeants des consommateurs d’aujourd’hui qui veulent se procurer une collation ou une boisson santé sur le pouce. C’est la raison pour laquelle nous avons introduit cette année deux nouvelles catégories « Meilleur pour votre santé », reconnaissant ainsi que l’une des clés de la réussite dans la commercialisation de produits innovants est de satisfaire aux demandes des consommateurs qui souhaitent avant tout des options plus saines.

Les catégories Meilleur pour votre santé - Collations et Meilleur pour votre santé - Boissons ont attiré le plus grand nombre de produits soumis cette année, un témoignage de l’innovation en cours dans ce domaine.

Veuillez prendre quelques instants pour partager cette information avec vos directeurs de catégorie et vos représentants.
