Jiøí Laštovièka

*1949 Prague

He finished his studies in 1974 at Academy of Arts,

Architecture and Design in Prague. After his graduation he

worked as a china designer at the firm Karlovarsky Porcelan till

1981.

Between 1981 and 1992 he worked as a designer at glass and

china department of Institute of Interior Design & Clothing

Culture (ÚBOK) in Prague. From 1992 till 2009 he worked as

a designer in the company Porcela Plus.

At present he cooperates with the Czech china makers

externally. In his free design he is focusing on porcelain plastic

art and individual design.

After his visit to China in 2007 he has also started creating

teapots - sole pieces. In China, he also attends thematic

exhibitions of tea pots every year. Most of the creations are

inspired by the signs of Chinese zodiac.

He lives and works in Prague and in Mníšek pod Brdy in the

Czech Republic.
