From Oct. 4-9, the Cass County Sheriff's Office will behosting the Heart of America Police Dog Association(HAPDA) K-9 certification and trials. Last year'scertification was held in Salina, Kans. and the organizationvoted tot have the 2009 certification in Iowa and CassCounty was selected as the host agency. HAPDA is anaccredited organization where K-9 teams can receive ayearly certification in areas of Narcotics detection, patrol,arson, explosives, and search and rescue, depending onthe specializations of the K-9 team.
