Earth vs.

Mars

SOLAR SYSTEM In the solar system the are 8 planets. There are also 2 dwarf planets. The planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars,

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. The 2 dwarf planets are Pluto and Ceres.

INNER PLANETS There are 4 inner planets. They are Earth, Mars, Mercury and Venus. There the inner planets because there close

to the sun.

OUTER PLANETS There are 4 outer planets. They are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and

Neptune.

ABOUT THE PLANETS…

Jupiter has a really cool big red

spot on its side that’s a instant

storm that’s always happing.

Earth is a inner planet and are

home.

Saturn is a outer planet and it has

beautiful rings but the rings are

actually space rummage and trash that have formed

around the planet.

EARTHS SURFACE Earths surface is only 30% land!!! Another word for earth is the world. There is a Grand Cannon here in Colorado.

EARTHS SURFACE…. WATER The earth is 70% water. There is five oceans here on earth. The largest ocean is Pacific. The smallest ocean is Arctic.

Pacific Atlantic

Indian Southern

Arctic

MARS SURFACE

Mars surface is very red. The surface has been smoothed by repeated

lava flows. There is water on Mars!!!!

MARS SURFACE Mars is nicknamed the red planet. Its nicknamed the red plant because its all

red.

CURIOSITY Curiosity is mars rover. Its big and heavy about a ton. Its one of the only working rovers. There’s a camera on it so people on earth

can see what’s happening on Mars. In July curiosity started a trek at about 5.3

mi.

MARS AND EARTH ARE ALIKE????

They both make a rotation every 24 hours.

Both have bodies of liquid on there planets.

Both have hard exterior

crust.

The transfer of energy

produces work and heat.

Both planets have dense cores.

The conservation of energy also produces

work and heat.

HOW MARS AND EARTH ARE DIFFERENT

Earth has a very heavy version of

silicone that mars doesn’t have.

Mars has a rover. Earth does not.

There is a lot less gravity on

Mars than Earth.

There is life on earth . As far as we know there

isn’t much life on earth.

Mars is red Earth is

not.

CONCLUSION So in conclusion you’ve learned how different

earth is compared to mars. Also how similar they are. About earths surface and mars surface. And all about the solar system. Thank you Mrs. Mayer for helping me learn

the amazing things power point can do!! HOPE YOU ENJOYED!!!!
