Bartlett, IL: Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago (JSMC) hosted a unique musical event for three days to celebrate the culture and heritage of Gujarati folk dance and Dandia at Jain Community Center at 435 N Rt. 59, Bartlett, IL on October 8, 9, and 10. Chicago land’s Jains and non-Jain community overwhelmingly responded and made this program sold out for first two days. “Raas-Garba Ramzat 2010” a beautiful event got truly remarkable response from all the attendees and they made this 3-day fund raising event a memorable one.

Bartlett, IL: Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago (JSMC) hosted a unique musical event for three days to celebrate the culture and heritage of Gujarati folk dance and Dandia at Jain Community Center at 435 N Rt. 59, Bartlett, IL on October 8, 9, and 10. Chicago land’s Jains and non-Jain community overwhelmingly responded and made this program sold out for first two days. “Raas-Garba Ramzat 2010” a beautiful event got truly remarkable response from all the attendees and they made this 3-day fund raising event a memorable one.

On a very first day, the during kick-off ceremony, Grand sponsors – Mafatbhai Patel (Patel Brothers) and Kishan N. Patel (New York Life) along with JSMC Chairman Prabodh Vaidya and JSMC President Atul Shah inaugurated the festival by lighting the lamp “Mangal Deep” signifying unity, harmony and music. Vice President of JSMC Mr. Hemant Shah welcomed dignitaries and all the attendees of the Ramzat 2010. Jt. Treasurer of JSMC Mr. Parag Shah provided logistics on all three days of festivities.

Throughout all three days Shree Raj and Smruti Pandya, a famous musical group from KY served a melodious music and singing. Lead vocalist and band leader Raj and Smruti Pandya, who have presented acclaimed performances in more than 41 states, with unique concept of merging Eastern and Western music. Musical theme on first day was – “Dholida naa Taale” followed by “Bollywood” on 2nd day and then “Fusion” on last day. People from all age enjoyed three days of Raas-Garba until past midnight every day. Food Secretary of JSMC Mr. Hitesh R. Shah mentioned that people enjoyed variety of Food menus chosen for youth and adult including specially imported Indian Khaari Sing served in a professional setup. “Gamthi” theme decoration throughout the facility with a beautiful center piece of “Diva” and “Raath with Ganesh” became a major attraction for a picture perfect photo spots. Security, safety and parking arrangements were very thoughtful and well planned. Everyday contests for Best Performances and Best Costumes were thoroughly enjoyed by all the participants. Sponsors and the Vendors of this event participated by displaying their Banners and/or Advertisements through live Slide Show on a two big screen projectors all three days. On last day – 10/10/10 at 10:10 PM, a grand finale of “10-10-10-10-10” was captured with a grand Lucky draw and musical count down it was truly a memorable moment.

Many volunteers demonstrated well organized team effort and very hard under the leadership of Hemant Shah, Parag Shah, and Hitesh R. Shah to make this event successful. Without their dedicated and selfless effort, this event won’t be memorized as Best Garba in Chicago land area. This multi-dimensional project was very well supported by Sponsors, donors, advertisers, news and TV media. With lots of positive energy and passion from all the JSMC volunteers Raas-Garba Ramzat 2010 became a grand success.
