Eneron in brief

• Eneron is a Finnish company established in 2011 that specialize in improving energy efficiency in buildings

• We offer a unique cloud service consisting of EnerOnline™ and Cleantech Databank™ as well as consulting services for cost efficient facility energy management and indoor climate condition improvement

How do we improveenergy efficiency in

buildings?

EnerOnline™ is used to manage and monitor the improvement process and progress for the entire building portfolio

EnerOnline has received a verification of conformity to ISO 50001: 2011 Energy Management Systems by Bureau Veritas

Cleantech Databank™ is used for proposing savings measures with references to actual products and solutions

Cleantech for buildings?

Cleantech for buildings

• Cleantech Databank™ is a public database for products, solutions and services that promote energy efficiency and use of renewable energy in buildings

• All products and solutions in the database are also available to EnerOnline users and via that become a part of decision makers’ procurement and budgeting process

• Providers can market their Cleantech energy efficiency and renewable energy products, services and solutions directly to designers, contractors and facility managers

Why should we care about energy usage in

buildings?

Buildings are supposed use energy!

Buildings are designed to consume energy!

• Buildings justify their existence by offering controlled indoor living conditions. We cannot remove this, if we do, the justification for having a building disappears

• We can install different energy production methods in the building or on the property, but the facts remain• Ventilation, pumps, lights and other devices use electric energy• We loose heat through the building constructs and via ventilation• Water is consumed

• Before we consider energy savings measures in form of cleantech solutions and renewables, we have to determine if the current energy consumption level is high or low for the building in question to assess the true savings potential

Analyze portfolio savings potential

Life-cycle investment analysisSay I am greedy and must have at least 15% annual rate of return, what should I do?

So how much energy can we save in buildings?

With current technology and its adoption level in existing buildings, we can save about

30% of the used energy

Case: Finland

Is this a lot?

Does it even matter?

Case: Finland• Total energy consumption in Finland (Statistics Finland)

1 373 164 TJ 381 TWh

381 434 GWh

381 434 444MWh

• The portion of energy consumed by buildings is 40%

152 573 778MWh

28 236 829 053€ / year

28 237million € / year

28 billion € / year

5 134 € / capita / year• Savings potential 30%

8,5 billion € / year

8.5 billion euro per year is an interesting sum because…

…for it you can get8,5 “Oasis Of The Seas”

cruise ships

…and because these guys are looking for it!

Kidding aside…Yes it matters!

The energy savings potential in the installed building base in Finland

alone is a mind boggling 8.5 billion euro annually

This kind of saving is like a structural reform that pays

dividends every year
