It is a new building. The ground floor is for primary education (primary classes) The first floor for secondary education (secondary classes).

Wendy RushI am a teacher working in the Primary Department at Beverley School. I am the International co-ordinator.

Early Years classroom. Class 1 This is the classroom for pupils 4 and 5 years old.

Class 1Students from the first class using their PECs books to ask for snack.

Class 2 This is my classroom. We give our pupils lots of individual help with their work.

Workstation The students learn to work on their own tasks at workstations to help them concentrate better.

Computer In a separate room, the computer. Pupil’s can work without distraction in a room joined to the classroom either on their own tasks or with a teacher.

Choice boardThere are photos to help the pupils choose and request what they want to play with.

Soft play roomThis space is used to interact with pupils on a 1:1 or in a small group to help their communication skills.

Class 6In the older groups there are more workstations. These pupils are 9 & 10 years old.

PlaygroundsSafe places to play surround the school. There are many small and large areas so that a range of activities can take place.

The Common Room The students of the secondary classes may stay inside when it is playtime in the Common Room.

Food TechnologyHere delicious thing s are cooked and baked like pizza and cookies.

CaféOn Wednesday mornings each week, all students in the school are welcome to eat in the cafe. The students of the Secondary classes prepare the food, take the order, serve and collect the money as well as part of their work related learning.

LunchAll students take a turn to go for lunch in the canteen. There is a wide choice of food it is very busy and noisy but everyone knows what to do.

Tour of MiddlesbroughStudents from Beverley School have designed a tour of the local area.

Captain James CookOne of our local heroes is Captain James Cook. He was a great sailor. He was the first Englishman to discover Australia. He was born in Middlesbrough.

Tour near the River TeesThe football stadium "Boro“ as they call the local team and a great work of art in the foreground, Temenos.

Transporter bridgeA very famous bridge over the River Tees. The cars hang from the bridge to be moved to the other side in a “cradle” suspended from the top.

Our local areaThis is Roseberry Topping a local landmark.

Middlesbrough is a town with industry.We have a steel works and a chemical industry. We are near to the sea and have a deep water port.
