Meerkats live in the desert inside burrows. Meerkats live in Africa in the desert.

MEERKAT FACTSMeerkats are specially adapted to living in the harsh desert

environment . Dark patches around their eyes help them be effective lookouts by reading the glare of the sun much like a base ball player who paints dark lines beneath his eyes .They are only 30cm tall and live in under ground tunnels.
