Why: Toallowallbaseballplayerstheopportunitytoparticipateinaninjurypreventionscreeningandresearchstudy.

Cost: Thereisnofeeforathletestoparticipate.Thescreeningispartofaresearchstudybeingconductedtoevaluateoverheadathletesanddetermineiftheyhavedeficienciesthatneedtobeaddressedpriortotheseasonanddevelopadatabaseforpotentialstudiestoevaluatecontributingfactorsofshoulderandelbowinjuries.Participationinthisstudyiscompletelyvoluntaryandathletescanparticipateinthescreeningexaminationwithouthavingdatacollectedforthestudy.Inaone-hourcomprehensivescreening,athleteswillbeprovidedthefollowing:

1.AppointmentwithFellowship-TrainedShoulderandElbowSpecialistorSportsMedicinePhysician.

2.PhysicalTherapist-guidedexerciseprogramdesignedspecificallytodecreaseinjuryrates. 3.Core/balancetestingandexerciseinstructionwithCertifiedAthleticTrainers.4.Foldertotakehomewithallinformationobtainedduringtheappointment.
